Update (Current Conditions)

Mudslide Recovery and Road Closures

Cleanup crews are still hard at work in Forest Falls and Oak Glen after last week’s mudslides and flooding. According to ABC7 News, at least three homes were destroyed and several more damaged in Forest Falls. Residents have been digging out, rescuers have been hauling away debris, and neighbors have been showing up for each other in ways that remind us what community looks like in hard times.

Highway 38 remains closed beyond Angelus Oaks due to severe road damage. County officials have called the closure “indefinite” until repairs can be planned and completed.

- For residents: the closure is another adjustment in a life already shaped by mountain conditions. Staying connected with neighbors and being flexible in travel plans continues to matter most.

- For visitors: if you’re traveling to a mountain destination and are not familiar with the landscape, please check official updates before heading out:

Self-Reflection

Why Self-Reflection Matters

Self-reflection turns experience into growth. It slows us down, helps us notice patterns, and clarifies what matters most. By taking time to answer the questions, you give language to your feelings, strengthen gratitude, and become more intentional in how you show up for yourself and others.

Caring for the Canyon We Share:

How We Come Together Each Year

"Every spring, neighbors roll up their sleeves for the annual Canyon Cleanup. It's not just about trash bags, it's about showing up for the place we all share. When the community comes together, the canyon shines brighter."  – Terry Hamilton, Mountain C.A.R.E.
